1. Removable Backrests
The most common way Celebrity 3-seaters come apart is through locking sleeve brackets. Each of the three seats usually has a backrest that can be removed individually.
-
The Mechanism: On the back of the sofa, there are metal "male" brackets attached to the backrest that slide into "female" sleeves on the base.
-
The Release: Usually, there is a small locking tab or lever inside the fabric flap at the rear. Once these tabs are pressed or lifted, the backrest can be pulled upward and off the base.
-
The Result: This significantly reduces the height and depth of the unit, making it much easier to pivot around tight corners.
2. Sectional Base Splitting
In many 3-seater configurations (particularly the larger reclining models), the base itself is not one solid piece. Instead, it is delivered as three separate chair modules.
-
Linking Bars: The modules are often held together by sturdy metal linking bars or "crocodile clips" at the bottom.
-
The Process: To split the base, you typically lift one section to disengage it from the pins of the adjacent section.
-
The Benefit: This turns one massive, heavy sofa into three manageable chairs that one or two people can carry easily.
3. Removable Feet
While it seems minor, removing the feet or castors can provide an extra 5cm to 10cm of clearance. On Celebrity models, these are usually screw-in components that can be removed without specialized tools.

Pro Tip: If your sofa is a power-recliner model, always ensure the cables are disconnected at the "quick-release" points before trying to pull the sections apart to avoid stretching or snapping the internal wiring.
