Single Adjustable Beds
When purchasing a Single Adjustable Bed, firstly ensure it will fit into the space where you intend to use it. A Single Adjustable Bed and Mattress is 6’ 6” in length not 6’ 3” as are traditional type beds, also allow for any headboard or added frame surround you may have selected.
Operating Your New Adjustable Bed
Operating your new bed is easy, the simple touch button hand control operates both the head-end and the foot-end individually. You can raise the head end to the exact height that is right for you or you can lower it to a flat normal bed position. The foot end can be raised or lowered in the same way.
A choice of mattresses are available, including Pocket Sprung, Latex and Memory Foam. Each mattress has a differnt feel and as comfort is personal, it is advisable to try each mattress before you buy.
If you intend to use a hoist with your new bed it is advisable to select a base that is on legs, not a deep divan base as this will allow your hoist to fit under the bed.
Latex Mattresses
Latex is a natural product that supports your body, it's extremely durable and Eco Friendly. Latex Foam performs just as well when supporting the heavier parts of your body, such as your hips and your shoulders as it does when supporting the lighter areas. Latex is a soft yet supportive product that will always return to its original state after use.
Latex is a natural product (extracted sap from rubber trees) that is breathable, this is especially advantageous for use with Electric Beds as it allows air to naturally flow preventing fluids from getting trapped and therefore preventing the build-up of bacteria.
Memory Foam Mattresses
Introducing Space Age technology to the bedding industry. Memory foam was a product developed by NASA in the early 70’s. Pressure-relieving Memory Foam was originally intended to help astronauts cope with the incredible G-forces they encounter. It works the opposite of Latex. Where as Latex is always pushing upwards to support you, Memory Foam reacts to your body heat and shapes and moulds itself to your body, supporting sore joints and allowing for better circulation and comfort.
Pocket Sprung Mattresses
Pocket springing has always been a popular choice for a good-quality bed. Each spring is upholstered in its own separate pocket allowing each one to move up and down individually and therefore shape to you and support you correctly.
